When I was living with my parents in the Fisher Street house in Bassendean, on the border of Ashfield, I celebrated my 21st birthday party in Mum and Dad's lounge room. Many of the core youth group leaders from my church, Bedford Gospel Chapel, came for a dance and singalong.
I had just started dating a girl named Val as, at this time, Ann was no longer on the scene. The music was played on my Sony reel to reel tape deck. I also used this tape deck at Friday night youth group for musical chairs, etc.
The birthday boy, with my brother Graeme in the doorway, and my sister Elvie's oldest son, Steven.
My dad, Gordon, giving the birthday toast.
As a young man, I loved the 70s fashon, mini skirts and hotpants (on the girls).
Ann and her brother, Victor.
Ann's maternal grandmother, Nana K, with her Picks grandchildren, Ann and six siblings.
Sisters: Ann, Nancy, Lyn & Kerry.

Ann's dad, Ted.
Ann, Victor & mother, Elaine.
I was 'persona non-gratis' (banned) at Ann's house by her father, but that finally changed when we became engaged, when I was 21yo and Ann was 19yo. These two images were taken at Parliment House - note the matching jumpers.
My mum and dad, Irene & Gordon.
My brother Graeme, and wife Marg.

(I didn't realise how tall Ann & I were compared to our friends at church, until I saw this photo!)

My parents house in Fisher Street, Bassendean was developed over the years with a big shed down the back and a concrete drive that went through from the front street to the back street, all built by my dad and his trusty cement mixer.
I converted my speedboat with a Hamilton single-stage jet unit and put the controls up front - it was awesome and could plane in a couple of inches of water! My nephew, Peter, checking it all out.
I took Ann & a few friends out on my dad's boat one day in Cockburn Sound. The sea was glass smooth and a small pod of dolphin's found us and played around the boat.
One weekend I took Ann to Beth & Ken's farm, near Kondinin, to load a truck with mallee roots for my parents fireplace.
I was usually behind the camera, but occassionally Ann would grab it.
