19th November 2011  -  Paul Schulz  -  Leinster, Western Australia

"Hi Max, I recently became a resident of Leinster and whilst searching for images of the area and things to see I stumbled across your site, I have a fascination with abandoned mines and settlements, wondering how people worked and lived in those areas, it is however with sadness I have to inform you that the Corringie Settlement can only live on in your images, I was there today on my way home from Kalgoorlie, all that remains is the lone grave, which is now fenced off and an old bulk fuel tank, everything else has been removed, not even as much as a foundation exists, although it is still in Google maps satellite imagery until that is updated, I'm not sure just how long it too will be around!  I know of a disused mine nearby with mountains of discarded equipment, buildings and vehicles, but I believe the holders of the mining leases are looking at rehabilitation of the area too. Regards Paul"
Max's Response: ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Hi Paul, Interesting – I was up that way in the first week of November and called into Corringie Settlement and found what you had seen. Thanks for your feedback anyway. I hired a metal detector and was chased by thunderstorms from Laverton, Leonora, Leinster, Sandstone and up to Cue. Most of the dirt roads had been closed and I could not get into the spots I wanted to go. Got bogged twice. And found no gold. Cheers, Max.

8th November 2011  -  Danna Wells  -  Richmond, Victoria, Australia

"Hi Max, I've just had a look at your website, there's an image I'd like to use for a brochure: Pilbara Sky on the North West Coastal Highway, WA I am designing a brochure for the John Button Foundation, they are a not-for-profit foundation, producing a brochure about a prize they are setting up. I need an image A4 in size (297mm depth) 300 pixels an inch. Could you let me know what the licensing cost is and what the capacity size of the image is?
thanks very much. Danna Wells Design."

24th September 2011  -  Bryce and Marie Chesson  -  Sydney, New South Wales, Australia

"Hi Max, My name is Bryce Chesson and I have just viewed some photos of the Murchison goldfields on your website. My wife Marie and myself have just returned to Sydney after a recent trip to the Murchison goldfields where we stayed at Cue for a few days. A large part of my family history is centred around the Towns of Cue and Day Dawn, my family walked to Cue alongside of Bullock drays from the Mullewa rail head around 1894. The book "Gold on the Murchison" by P. R. Heydon (OAM) is loosely woven around entrepreneurs Chesson and Heydon who were prominent in Cue and Day Dawn from 1894 to 1926. My brother and I were born at Youanmi, 1937 and 1940 respectively. Our Dad was the bookkeeper for the Youanmi Stores and Electric supplies from 1935 until the cessation of business in 1942. At the same time he was secretary to the Youanmi Hospital Board. My Mother and father met at Youanmi where she was a waitress and they were married at Mount Magnet in 1936. When we were over your way we had a bucket list of places to see but unfortunately we hired a small sedan which got us to most places but I lacked the confidence to go off road in such vast and lonely places. So high on our list was to stand on the old Youanmi town sight and to see the Rabbit proof fence No 1, as you can see from the photos supplied we were close. Max would you consider giving me permission to download some of your pics for our family history purposes only, with due recognition of course or I would be happy to purchase some hard copy if you prefer. We had a lovely trip but doubt whether we will ever get back to the Murchison....Regards, Bryce and Marie Chesson."

Max's Response: ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Hi Bryce & Marie, You can use any of my photos for downloading – but please be aware that any photo on my site that is sourced from another website is not controlled by me in any many whatsoever. If you want permission for such an image, you will need to contact them. Having said that, in this day and age, no one really minds if you download and print images off for your own purposes, as long as you are not making money from their work/image. Have an awesome weekend! Cheers, Max.

19th September 2011  -  Dean Butcher, Logan City Council  -  Queensland, Australia

"Hi Max, I am writing on behalf of Logan City Council (Australia) to request written consent from your company to use an image provided on Spiritland website. The image/s we would like to use are provided at the following web page: www.spiritland.net/met_bch_north.htm and show the ampitheatre/ shade structure at Scarborough Beach, Western Australia. Here is a brief background as to why we are requesting your written permission to use the image: Logan City Council is currently undertaking a master planning exercise for one of its main centres: Logan Central. Within the draft master plan report, a variety of precedent/best-of-class images are being used to explain concepts within the document and enable readers to visualise the proposals being made. We would like to use some images shown on your website (see picture) to show what an 'iconic shade structure' might look like. Unfortunately, due to it's confidential status, Logan City Council is not allowed to disclose the contents of that report to external parties. Logan City Council however, wishes to advise that full recognition of the image's origins (ie. Max Jefferies + the spiritland website) would occur both in text and in the reference section of the document, if permission were given. If you would like any further clarification on this request, please do not hesitate to contact Logan City Council at the address from which this email was sent. Logan City Council wishes to extend it's thanks in advance, for your consideration of this request. Regards, Dean Butcher | Development Planner, Strategy & Planning Branch | Logan City Council.

I have a request, I belong to a couple of online Caravan Forums would it be okay to post a link to your site for other people to view? Thank You. Regards Catherine."

22nd August 2011  -  Michelle   Western Australia

"Hi Max, My name is Michelle Li, I am the editor of a free Chinese newspaper called Epoch Times, we distributed about 9500 copies in WA every week. We produce the paper by volunteers (no payment), and depend on advertising to cover the cost. May I use your photos on http://www.spiritland.net? Thank you, Michelle."

Max's Response: ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Hi Michelle, After viewing your website, free use of my images IS NOT PERMITTED. While you do not charge for you paper, it is clearly a commercial enterprise. Regards, Max Jefferies.

6th August 2011  -  Natasha Miller   -  Western Australia

"Hi Max, I am a 4th year university student studying teaching and would like to create a blog with my year 6 class, they visited Parliament house making the journey over the Narrows Bridge on the way and I would love to use your Narrows Bridge photo from here www.spiritland.net/perth_city1.htm as a background to a class blog, with the bridge being a reminder of their trip there but also symbolic of the bridge they are crossing moving to high school. Just wanted to check if you wouldn't mind me using it, I would of course show full copyright. Yours sincerely Natasha Miller."

Max's Response: ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Hi Natasha, You may use any of my photos for free under the conditions I have mentioned at the top of my gallery pages – yours being ‘not for profit’.
If you need an original copy of an image – let me know. Have fun! Cheers, Max.

7th July 2011  -  Marc Glasby   Western Australia

"Hi Max, I discovered your website while searching for images of Agnew and was amazed at all the things you have put together. I run a non-profit website about Western Australia ( www.wanowandthen.com ) and we are always looking for content for our site. We would love to use some of your photos. We can only give acknowledgement not payment for photos used as we don't make money from the site it is all for educational and information purposes. I was fascinated by the photos of Corringie Settlement, had never heard of it before. We are interested in doing a page on that for our site as well. I haven't finished looking through your site yet but will certainly go through all of it very shortly. Regards, Marc Glasby."

"Hi again Max, I have now had a chance to go through some of your website (boy is there a lot on there!) and have been enjoying it immensely. I noticed quite a few similarities, I also lived in Bassendean (6 Parnell Pde.) and went to CJ High school although some time after you were there: My photographic equipment has included Pentax MZ-50 and a couple of Fuji digitals; I also have the same make and model of boat - although due to your amazing modifications it doesn't look very similar - I think if your boat had been set up for three people I would have bought it and sold mine; We have also travelled over a lot of the same ground and as I am more or less 'grounded' now as I can't drive any more I really have enjoyed looking through your photos. You have really put together a fantastic website. I hope I am able to get permission from you to use some of your photos on our site. Kind regards, Marc Glasby."

"Hi again Max, Thanks for permission to use your photos. We certainly agree to the terms you outlined and are very appreciative of the chance to use them. We have a number of people who have contributed to our site and we are always careful to acknowledge contributions and give credit to the originators of images. We try to give as much publicity as possible to sites with great Australia content and do not just assign a title="" to each image but will also put some clickable text links in to encourage people to go and have a look at the entire site. I will have to double check any images we use as I did note that you have some images from other sites which we will also have to approach for permission. I don't know if you have considered doing so but I think your site would be worth preserving for future generations. The National Library of Australia does this via the Pandora archive and if you are interested in contacting them we have a link on our main page. We have been working on our site for over 10 years now and our main aim is to try an encourage more people to get interested in West Australian history. As soon as I have a couple of pages updated I will send you the URLs to them so that you can check on how we are intending to use the images and let me know if everything is ok. Thanks again, Kind regards, Marc."

Max's Response: ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Hi Marc, Just got your second email – small world eh! My wife, Ann, also went to SJH a year after me – I only lasted one year and left the day I turned 14. You have a huge amount of info on your site – must have been doing it for a long time. Just grab any image from my site without notifying me, on the conditions below. You may use any of my images free of charge for the use you have requested, under the following conditions only:
1. My images must not be used in any other manner than what you have requested without specific permission for that purpose.
2. If used on a website, you must send me the URL (site address) when active. The site must not contain or promote in any way, any illegal or offensive material or activity deemed as such by the common laws of Australia, including containing links to such materials on other websites. No pornography, gambling, scams, etc.. I will check the website from time to time, and if at any stage I am not happy to be associated with that site, I can request that my images be removed, which must happen within 30 days of the request.
3. I retain sole rights to my photos at all times, and you agree not to pass or sell them onto any other party, or make any commercial gain from any of my images.
4. If you use any of my images, you must clearly state somewhere on your site or in your publication, 'Image/s courtesy of www.spiritland.net - Max Jefferies' ,with the underlined link on a website being active to my site, or something similar.
5. You must reply by email to me if you agree to these conditions of image use before permission takes effect.
Also please note that if any image on my site has copyright assigned to someone else, then you must seek usage rights from that source.

Cheers, Max.

13th June 2011  -  Corinne Hawke   Western Australia

"Hi Max, I’m putting together a two page document for the University of WA and I discovered your beautiful photography. I am emailing to find out how I can go about using the Pilbara Connection image for the document. I look forward to hearing from you further and thanks for your time. Kind regards, Corinne.  Corinne Hawke Communications."
"Hi Max, Thanks for your reply. I’ve sent your email through to our team who have checked with others and they’ve given it all the okay so we agree to all your terms and conditions in full. If we do indeed go ahead with using the photo – as we probably will - then I will send you the appropriate information for your files. As I mentioned, the image will be used in a 2 page document relating to Pilbara regional development. Once again, thank you kindly. Regards, Corrine."

I must confess I have lost peoples comments in this period to a computer crash and not having kept up with my postings.   OOOPS!!!

29th January 2010  -  Bill Peacock   -  Auckland, New Zealand

"Hi Max, I'm a kiwi high school teacher writing a workbook for junior students. One of your Nullarbor images would be ideal to include as a comparison with our somewhat hillier terrain! The image shows a red road disappearing into the horizon with a vehicle approaching the camera - it's not the roadkill image. What are your charges? Cheers, Bill Peacock, Northcote College, Auckland, NZ."

Max's Response: ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Hi Bill, Sorry it is not my image – see under the title is a link – please try that to see how you go. “ The Eyre Highway only crosses a small section of the south end of the Nullarbor Plain. Copyright - Webshots - Ilariat ". Cheers, Max.

29th January 2010  -  Clive Sandon   Queensland, Australia

"Hi Max, Currently at our school, we play an antiquated version of our National Anthem for parade. Recently we moved indoors for our parade and this has opened up a possibility of adding video images to the anthem. I recently decided to create a PowerPoint to go with the anthem, but I came across you site and thoroughly enjoyed the National Anthem sung by Troy, Gina & Lee. I should have a copy of this track soon & was wondering if you give permission for schools to use your photographs & if so, how do I go about getting them. On top of that, do you know of any modern audio/visual presentation that could be used for the aforementioned purpose? Thanks for your consideration, Clive Sandon. (Northpine Christian College)"

Max's Response: ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________

G’day Clive,  At our church we often use PowerPoint to create AVs – you can add sounds and effects with some great results and we run them from a computer into the digital projector. We also use Media Shout to run our words for songs, which also runs PowerPoints as well. All of my images are free for non-commercial purposes – schools included. Many of my images can be clicked to show a 800 x 600 size suitable for PowerPoints. Just right-click on the image and save it somewhere for later use. If the images you want are not around 800 wide, then give me the details and I can send you lager images. If looking to get a reasonable print quality, you will need the original for A5 or bigger prints. Any image that is copyrighted to someone else on my site will need to be cleared by them. Cheers, Max.

Evolution? Impossible!

29th December 2009 & 10th January 2010 Matt - FotosForFree.com.au   -  Queensland, Australia

"G'day there Max,  Incredible photos. You must have done a lot of travelling to capture these breathtaking shots. What I liked about your photos are that you actually feel like your there, especially the bloke with the BBQ. Its amazing what we take for granted sometimes. I'm a moderator for http://fotoforfree.com.au . If you'd like to use any of our photos for your Australian Photo Gallery then your most welcome. Keep up the good work mate.  - Matt."

"Hi Max, Thanks for the photos you've put onto FotoForFree Max. They're absolutely incredible. Gee, you've done some travelling. I cant believe there are places in Australia like that with crystal clear water. Time for me to have a holiday I think.  If you want any photos of ours (we cant give away photos from other users) for which you'd like our originals then just let me know. I was going to send you some photos but then thought, which ones would you be after. If you wanted to use some of them for your website then feel free to take a look, tell us which ones you want and we'll be happy to give them to you. I'm always happy to help promote Australian websites....
Judy and myself both work together designing websites. I own a little backyard website business and we make a couple of dollars on the side from what we do. While I do all the programming and the database type stuff, Judy does the graphical side and takes photography (her alias is judyf and sunshine on fotoforfree if you want to have a look). We put most of our photography on the fotoforfree website which we then use to design website templates for the websites we design. We don't use other peoples work because of copyright but if someone specifically wanted someone's photo then we'd most likely approach them and see if we could offer them some money to use the shot. As for my photographic talent, I've just got one of them cheap $200 point and click cameras which is on automatic settings most of the time. I'd like to get a better camera at some stage because I seem to be taking a few photos these days but the business is still slowly growing and haven't had the chance to get on top of everything yet. Everything I earn goes straight back into the business so all I afford is the cup of coffee I drink these days of. The best camera we have here is Judys with her $900 camera which definitely takes clearer shots than my cheapo. Hopefully, one day, we'll get the time to get out and shoot some more, take a few trips and see more of Australia. I really like Australian culture. I have a sentimental soft spot for shots that are revealing of true Australian character, its people and its culture. Sometimes those really raw shots with the odd sense of humour that Americans don't seem to appreciate.
Anyway mate... better go make myself a coffee and get back to work. Too much gas-bagging. I just wanted to say thanks and give you some ideas that hopefully keep you doing what you love best, taking really great photos (particularly the Australia ones). I hope you keep up with it because you really do great work. Speak later.  - Matt."

Max's Response: ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Hi Matt,  Thank you for all your comments. I do think your site is fantastic and for me replaces the site I had going with Webshots till they changed it. You people keep up the good work with you photo site too. Try FOTOSFORFREE.COM.AU people and get it moving!  I tried Adsence for a while and in 3 months didn’t make a cent off them, so canned the whole deal. I will post some for stuff on your site soon re. what gear I use, etc.. Cheers, Max.

22nd December 2009  -  Jill Hatrue   -  Western Australia

"Dear Max,  We just returned from our daily swim at Marmion and I was looking for some pics of our gorgeous beaches to send to friends in North America, Britain and Europe who are currently covered in more snow than they want!  I found your beautiful site. Gorgeous photos. Do you have any of big surf?  I used to body surf at Scarborough when I was a teenager - scared my mother rigid!  As a child, I lived at North Beach and Waterman's Bay and learnt to swim in the ocean by jumping off the end of the jetty at North Beach - a dare from the big kids. In those days, the jetty extended further out into the sea. We've lived in the old part of Sorrento for most of our married life. By the way, the small beach just south of Marmion Angling Club is a year-round informal social club year-round for anyone from babies to retirees -whoever turns up on the day - the regulars are always there either side of 11am and more frequently in summer. Visitors ie non-locals welcome. I like to tell our overseas visitors that all the Surf Lifesaving Clubs have towers so the lifesavers can sit up there with their binoculars and watch for sharks . If they see one, they sound the shark alarm. They usually look a bit shocked. So then I tell them it's mainly so they can see if anyone's in trouble - and they usually laugh nervously. Some of the labelling on the photos in the Waterman's and Marmion sections is a bit out. I've numbered your photos 1 to 10 and they are:  1. Waterman's [Granny's Pool]   2. WCH, North Beach   3. North Beach   4. Main beach, Waterman's Bay   5. Jetty at North Beach [ nice Dog Beach to the north of jetty]   6. Angling Club, Marmion [good snorkelling on reef].  Once again, thanks for a great site, Jill."

Max's Response: ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________

G’day Jill,  Can’t believe it has been so long since attending to my photo website stuff. Sorry about that – hobbies are the first to go when you get busy. Just shifted house into a new SMALL hutch with so much to get ride of and set up – what a pain for ‘oldies’.  Thanks heaps for the feedback. I have just had the road map out and have adjusted the items a bit. There is no 'Granny's Poll' as such - see what you think. Have a great day.

Cheers, Max.

16th December 2009  -  Emily Randles    -  Western Australia

"Hi, I'm interested in blowing up the print of Wedge Island (with the beach shacks) - the landscape one and giving it to my boyfriend for Christmas. Do you sell the photos on your page? Kind Regards, Emily."

Max's Response: ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Hi Emily, here is the original untouched image for you to crop and print from. Hope it turns out OK. Have a great Christmas – Jesus is the reason for the season. Cheers, Max.

6th December 2009  -  Sarah Tickel   -  Western Australia

"Hi Max, Thankyou so much for your page on Alexander Bridge Camping Ground. I am just wondering if you might know if you can book with someone to secure a place or if it is first in first served basis? Thanks again. Sarah Tickel."

Max's Response: ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Hi Sarah, I do not know, but try the Augusta Tourist Bureau, they should be able to help if anyone can. Cheers, Max.

21st November 2009  -  Ted Rees   -  Donnybrook, Western Australia

"Max, Like your photo's. Your photo of "Hippo's Yawn" (http://maxephotos.net/galleries/waverock/WR-14_small.jpg) is not correct. "Hippo's Yawn" is not on top of Wave Rock; see www.flickr.com/photos/ianlloyd/  or www.wheatbelttourism.com/. Ted Rees, Donnybrook, WA."

25th August 2009  -  Theuns van Zyl   -  Namibia  -  Lada Niva

"Hi Max,  Excellent web site, I am from Namibia and just started doing safari/tours for the lower income groups. We just completed our first tour in the Khaudom National Park in Namibia. I started out using Lada’s as they were cheap and plentiful in South Africa. Well cheap yes, but for my kind of operation....THE BEST. These little cars just have no end to them. Once the bucks come in I’m definitely broadening the scope Lada plays in this outfit. Well kind regards and merry winds n clear skies to all, Theuns."

Max's Response: ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________

G’day Theuns,  Thanks heaps for the feedback. We have just gone over to a small van with the beds in the back – so much easier for ‘old’ people – still plenty to see in this huge land of Australia.  Hope your business is going super. You have a great day. Cheers, Max.

We’re sure you’ve heard this claim before, probably hundreds of times:

“Science has proven evolution is fact.”  It’s like a strange Darwinian chant that emanates

from atheist blogs and secular universities.  Too bad (for them) that it’s not true.

20th August 2009  -  Andrew Robinson    Western Australia

"Max, G’day! I’ve just been looking at your gallery of photos from Onslow, plus many other galleries on your site. Very nice! I’m not sure if you’re aware of Vision Radio, but we’re a national Christian network (based in Brisbane) that is broadcasting (via satellite relay) in almost 400 locations around Australia. Our most recent addition is Onslow (hence my interest in your pics!) with Gingin also coming on earlier this month. Anyway, the reason for e-mailing you was to find out if you’d be interested in a quick chat on the phone to play ‘tour guide’ for our listeners. We’d just want to ask you a couple of questions about Onslow – highlights, points of interest, etc – to help to paint a picture of the town. We might also (with your permission) link a couple of your photos to our website to add to the information. Let me know if you’d be available for that. We would be happy to call you at any time that suits. Cheers! Robbo."

Max's Response: ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Hi Robbo, You have permission to use any of my images that do not have copyright assigned to someone else, for use by Vision Radio. I am afraid my voice is not good for an interview due to medical conditions, so will pass on that one. Blessings, Max.

3rd August 2009  -  Maurie & Margaret   -  Australia

"Hi Max, You have a great album of photo's out there, and we like the underlying theme that filters through to us from your site, to find someone that's not afraid to put JESUS upfront is very heartening, we are frantically building a website so I have to put your site into our favourites to return later, and of course also when we need a break. Our site is on travel in Australia and it is under construction as it will always be in this day and age of constant changes. We've had to look at a way to survive now that we are both in our seventies, so lets not beat around the bush, what we're on about is to ask for permission to use your work on our site. Blessings, Maurie & Margaret.""

Max's Response: ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Hi Maurie & Margaret, Thank you for your kind words. Could you please tell me what you are selling on your site, or what it is about. And what is the URL of the host site for me to check before any permission is granted. Cheers, Max.

23rd July 2009  -  Andrew Wade    -  Western Australia

11th July 2009  -  Les Hunting   -  Western Australia

"Dear Max,  You have some excellent photos, the top photos are all just as you say top photos and a pleasure to look at. Being a West Australian you would have noticed the name on the 747 at Longreach, It was named for the first country town becoming a city outside of Perth metro area at the time (I think that is right). Keep up the good work.  Cheers, Les."

Max's Response: ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________

G’day Les,  Can’t believe it has been so long since attending to the maxEphotos stuff. Sorry about that – hobbies are the first to go when you get busy. Just shifted house into a new SMALL hutch with so much to get ride of and set up – what a pain for ‘oldies’. Thanks heaps for the feedback. We want to go through Longreach some day soon and have just set up a little van as a camper. Maybe next year?  Cheers, Max.

19th June 2009  -  Dr Cecilia Netolicky   -  Western Australia

"Hi Max, We run a website for WA 50s and 60s style Rock-N-Roll and Rockabilly. I'm currently working on putting together a group of essays on 'The Snake Pit' through interviews with people who remember the days. They'll be posted under "New Articles" on our website "Perth Rocks":
http://members.optusnet.com.au/~perthrocks/
Have just been to your site and thought you may be interested or have some relevant contacts for interview. Celia."

Max's Response: ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________

G’day Celia, Some time ago a called into the State Library in Perth to find articles on the Snake Pit, and the assistant sent me the email below (not displayed here) with some references. This may be of help to you. I have not had the time to chase them up yet. Cheers, Max.

Just let me know what ones you want to see and I will send you the original unaltered image for you to work from, along with my details for payment. Cheers, Max.

29th March 2009  -  Jonalyn Suarez    -  Mount Isa, Australia

"Hi Max its Jona, I am from Mount Isa, Australia. I was surfing about website building and planning to have my own website, then I found your webpage about Australia it was great and fantastic I never thought there are lots of lovely and beautiful scenic places around Australia because am only exploring in the sides of Queensland and I keep wondering what's on the other side and the rest of the states and territories. I was about to start my first personal webpage, to show to my friends and my family in Philippines how great is Australia. I was studying your web page how you made it which gives me some clues and ideas. If you don't mind, I'd like to use some of your photos for my first personal website called Scenic Wonders of Australia and I really love to put your page as a link, but am not really quite sure how to do it or if its the right word link am just new to all of this am still watching website building tutorials. Anyway, hope I could use some of your photos of Australia. Till then, am waiting for your response. Jona."
"Hi its Jona again, I am just inquiring in your business website called Spiritland do we need to get a business permit here in Australia to have a such business in website because am planning to have one (no item to sell just charging for doing it for them) but not so sure the legality. Hope you can give me some insights. how to get? or where? An email response would be greatly appreciated. Thanx, Jona."

"Thanx for the response and advise Max greatly appreciated yes I accept your conditions and rights thanx. I know now what to do same with the PayPal I am going to use PayPal as a way of receiving payments because its easy and fast they told me to to get first ABN , GST and other requirements to make it legal. I let you know when my website is publish its www.theartistry.com.au am still working on it, am selling Greeting Cards and gift items. I might use some of your photos only for the viewers to see the wonderful place in Australia just a photo Gallery anyways I'll put your link on my website."

Max's Response: ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Hi Jona, You may use any of my images free of charge under the following conditions:
1. The photos or images must not appear on any other site than yours.
2. You must notify me when you have the website or webpage up and running so I may check your site from time to time. If at any stage I am not happy to be associated with that site, I can request that my photos or images be removed, which must happen within 30 days of the request.
3. The site must not contain or promote in any way, any illegal or offensive material or activity deemed as such by the common laws of Australia, including links to such materials on other websites. (No pornography, gambling, scams, etc.)
4. I retain sole rights to my photos and images at all times, and you agree not to pass or sell them onto any other party, or make any commercial gain from any of my photos or images.
5. If you use any of my photos or images, you must clearly state somewhere on your site, 'Selected images courtesy of maxEphotos.net - Max Jefferies' ,with the underlined link being active to my site, or something similar.
6. You must reply by email to me if you agree to these conditions of photo or image use before permission takes effect.
7. Also please note that if any photo or image on my site has copyright assigned to someone else, then you must seek usage rights from that source for those items.
Also, regarding running a business – If you receive money for suppling any service or item, you are required to register as a ‘business’ in Queensland and also register with the Australian Tax Office (ATO) for an ABN number (Australian Business Number). If you don’t, people paying you are required to keep 40-50% of your payment (not sure actual amount) and send it to the ATO. You may get away with it for a few friends, but it only takes one person to claim a tax deduction for a payment to you, and the ATO will then start to look into your activities for not being registered – and fines will apply. Do a business properly or don’t do it is my advice. Cheers, Max.

22nd February 2009  -  Zarina Shelest   -  Western Siberia, Russia

"What a great love is visible in every page, now I shall value the Australia in another way. It is an example for all of us: the love to the native land obliges to be the professional, but even professionalism can not substitute the most important thing: personal sense of beauty and harmony, desire to present others your sincere riches.
Thanks, also let give you the God a health and well-being.  Zarina."

Max's Response: ___________________________________________________________________________

G’day Zarina,  The internet is a wonderful thing, it allows us to visit places in the world without leaving home (and at no cost). All of the world and all of the people are beautiful in their own way. I love surfing the net for high-quality images for my desk top and screen saver. Thank you for your comments and blessings. Remember, this life is just a shadow of what God has prepared for those who love him. True Christianity is a relationship, not a religion.  God bless you and your family, Max.

5th February 2009  -  Stuart Jackson  -  Western Australia

"Hi Max,  Really wanted to say - what a brilliant website you have created. I was surfing....looking for info for our first trip to Onslow (staying on Direction Island) this July school Hols. Came across your site...looking for best fishing season, weather etc....and was just visually blown out of the water....and loved your blurbs about creation and Jesus. Just a brilliant website.  Thanks for being out there! and also the great info on Onslow area.
Regards in Jesus.  Stuart Jackson JP - Equaliser Australia"

Max's Response: ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Thanks for the feedback, Stuart. Just this week I got inspired to do some more work on the site, check for broken links, add more comment to the images. I am looking forward to getting back up to Onslow, my favourite spot, maybe at the end of the year or next year. Will be at Steep Point for 10 days at the end of March – can’t wait!  Cheers, Max.

23rd January 2009  -  Ed Garrett  -  Western Australia

"The photos you have on your site showing the “Murchison River” at Gascoyne junction are actually photos of the Gascoyne River. Similarly, Gascoyne Junction is not in the “Murchison”, it is in the Gascoyne Region. The Murchison River is much farther to the south with its mouth at the town of Kalbarri north of Geraldton. Apart from that glaring mistake, the site and the photos are great.  Edward Garrett."

Max's Response: ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________

What was I thinking!? I knew that! Probably not thinking more like it. Thanks for the feedback – I have fixed the errors. Well spotted.  Cheers, Max.

24th December 2008  -  Ricardo and Sandrine Bugueno  -  Australia

"Good evening Max,  I stumbled across your wonderful photos of Australia. My husband and I are starting our own business, promoting Australia.
It would be great if we could use some of your photos on our web-site, which is still under maintenance. Please let me know if that would be ok with you and if there are any terms and conditions. Thank you so much for your time. Kind Regards, Ricardo and Sandrine Bugueno - AUSSIE STYLE"

Max's Response: ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________

I am sorry, but I am not prepared to give you access and use of my images at this stage without seeing your actual website. I think it may be too close in theme to my sites (Spiritland.com.au) for you to use my images. If you want to let me know when your site is up, I will take another look at it then. Regards, Max.

10th December 2008  -  Mitsuru Hisatomi  -  Japan

"Dear Sir,  I live in Japan and I have a LADA NIVA 21214. I found your site during a search by word "LADA NIVA". Your photos are beautiful ! also your country too.  If you don't mind, I'd like to use your photos for my private new year's postcards. Could I do?  I'm poor at English, so please forgive me if my English sounds a little rough.  Kind Regards, Mitsuru Hisatomi."

Max's Response: ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Yes Mitsuru, you can use any of my photos for non-commercial use, that is OK. Thank you for your kind words. Regards, Max.

Max's Response: ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Hi Liz,  I would be very pleased to receive a payment for the use of my images. Something around the low end of the commercial rate would be fine.  Let me know what shots you are after and I will send you the original unaltered image.  Cheers, Max.

18th September 2008  -  Shane Rhodes  -  Western Australia

"Max, I need to find out the shape of the compressor mounting bracket you have in your Niva. Could you send me a photo if possible.  Thanks mate.

Max's Response: ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Sorry Shane, I no longer have the vehicle so I am unable to help. I actually deleted the Niva site, but then had several emails wanting it returned. So since I can do it at no cost, I obliged.  Cheers. Max.

6th August 2008  -  Geoff Peepall  -  Queensland

"Max - Good afternoon.  I am the editor of the local Just Rock magazine here in Queensland. I like to let the gang know of what's on and where and came across the site that details the Rock 'N' Roll Revival 2005 Scarborough Beach, Western Australia. This looks like it is an annual event. I would like to give the event a plug in the September edition and use some if the piccies if that was okay with you. Let me know mate. Can send you a copy of the magazine when it's printed if you like. I would need your postal address as it is too large to email.  Kind Regards, Geoff (Two Left Feet) - Just Rock Gladstone Qld.
PS: That's me with the scar. Taken at our Rock The Reef Dance here in Boyne Island."

Max's Response: ___________________________________________________________________________

Hi Geoff,  Go for it with the photos from my site. The Rock ‘N’ Roll Revival was put on by Stirling City Council and I think it has run the past few years, but I missed out. Just today had an update email from them, but they haven’t listed their next summer program yet, so here is the link to their site for you to check and get their newsletter sent to you direct.
http://www.stirling.wa.gov.au/home/community/Culture+Arts+and+Events/    Keep dancing, Max.

30th May 2008  -  Jeff Krasnostein   -  Western Australia

"Max,  I have a photo of Scarborough Beach taken in1943-would you like a copy."

Max's Response: ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Hi Jeff,  I am very interested in any image you or your friends might have of the old “Snake Pit” dance venue at Scarborough, or the street scape of the era. My website has somehow become listed on Wikipedia as the only source of information on the Snake Pit, and so I would like to include some images (with due notation on the provider of the image and copyright owner).  Other than that I have no particular interest in general old photos. Thanks for the offer though.  Cheers, Max.

The Dark Side of Charles Darwin

A Critical Analysis of an Icon of Science

A single man stands behind the greatest deception in history. Charles Darwin’s ideas still penetrate every aspect of our culture, including science, religion, and education. And while much has been made of his contribution to the evolutionary hypothesis, little has been publicized about the dark side of the man himself and how this may have impacted the quality and legitimacy of his research. This daring and compelling book takes its readers behind the popular facade of a man revered worldwide as a scientific pioneer, and unveils what kind of person Darwin really was. The book reveals disturbing facts that will help you:

  • Perceive Darwin firsthand through the eyes of family and friends, and his own correspondence

  • Discern this darkly troubled man, struggling with physical and mental health issues

  • Uncover his views on eugenics and racism, and his belief that women were less evolved than men

Thoroughly documented, this book reveals Darwin’s less-than-above board methods of attempting to prove his so-called scientific beliefs, and his plot to ‘murder God’ by challenging the then-dominant biblical worldview.

20th December 2007  -  Kirk O'Connor   -  Western Australia

"Dear Max,  I am preparing a new website for Aussie Wine Direct, a WA based company that promotes and sells predominately WA wines in the United Kingdom - www.aussiewinedirect.co.uk . The company’s new website will have a stronger emphasis on WA wines and producers whilst promoting wine tourism and tourism in general in WA. To project a uniquely WA flavour for the site we are looking to acquire images of scenery from the southwest and southern regions for presentation on the site. Whilst surfing the web I noticed your excellent images. Whilst I have no issue paying for quality images to enhance my client’s site, my business is a small one person business consultancy / web development specialist and, as such, the cost of such images needs to be reasonable. I make a point of officially acquiring / purchasing images for use on the sites I develop and have no issue crediting you for the images on the site.  By the way, keep up the great work with the camera – too many people only take whilst in this life and precious few ever give back. Best regards, Kirk.  Director - OVM Webbuilder"

Max's Response: ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Hi Kirk, You may use any of my images free of charge under the following conditions:  1. The site or sites (the website to display the images) must clearly be in promotion of Western Australia or Australia for tourism purposes, and not just for a purely commercial enterprise.  2. The site must not contain or promote in any way, any illegal or offensive material or activity deemed as such by the common laws of Australia, including links to such materials on other websites. (No pornography, gambling, scams, etc.)   3. You must send to me the address of the site when it is launched that I may check it from time to time. If at any stage I am not happy to be associated with that site, I can request that my images be removed, which must happen within 30 days of the request.  4. I retain sole rights to my photos at all times, and you agree not to pass or sell them onto any other party, or make any commercial gain from any of my images.  5. If you use any of my photos, you must clearly state somewhere on that page, 'Photos courtesy of maxEphotos.net - Max Jefferies' ,with the underlined link being active to my site, or something similar.  6. 8th November 2007 - Barbara - Maryland, U.S.A. - www.Xerraire.com

"Hi there!  I found your website when looking for images of a car show.  However, curiosity took me to the rest of your site and I wanted to email how nice it was to find a photo gallery that also had so many links to Christian messages. I should do the same! I do, however, try to share my testimony in subtle ways on my blog. I am writing to you from Maryland, USA, and I know (via online) a few people from Perth, and so many don't believe in the Bible that I just had to write to you and tell you how refreshing it was to find your site. I was also hoping to ask about the church you attend there, its location, that perhaps I could share with the people I know there of your church. My mom grew up in the Church of Christ but I am not that familiar with it. I was raised what we call here Southern Baptist but now I go to a Fundamentalist Baptist Church. I don't know if the names and titles mean anything anymore. I'd like to just say I believe in God and in His Word the Bible and that Jesus is my Savoir. I noticed you had a link to Chick tracts, it's been a long time since I had seen any reference to them. I also noticed a few links to Ken Ham projects. I have heard him speak here in Maryland, and love his videos and books. By the way, I love photography too, oh, and I noticed you used the same camera as I have! I have the Fuji s602z! I am also hoping to one day have a dSLR as well!  I suppose I have taken enough of your time. Regards and greetings from Maryland!  Barbara  (From "Xerraire")"

Max's Response: ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Hi Barbara,  Thanks for your comments. You can find out about my church, Rivervale Church of Christ, at www.rivcc.org.au (My current church is Lynwood Christian Church ) . This is another website that I administer. My websites are pretty basic as I am self-taught. I had a look around your sites – very professional and commercial. My wife and I have been at RIV church just over 7 years and are very settled there. We have a growing African contingent due to our work with asylum seekers at a local Detention Centre, plus helping them settle in a new country. I have been on the Creation Science Western Australia support group back in the early days and have helped out at conferences where Ken Ham has spoken (before he shifted to the US). As a teenager I new that evolution was a load of rubbish - just not logical. You see the great design work in a car (I was a bit of a rev-head), then were told that the amazing design present in nature - a flower, a snow flake or the human body, didn’t have a designer!?? But at that time I didn’t have anything else to replace evolution with – until circumstances lead me to read the Bible for the first time, and it all just fell into place. Creation Ministries International do a fantastic job in confirming the foundations of the Bible on which faith can be built. Anyway, good to here from you and remember Jesus is coming back soon, so keep your house in order.  Blessings, Max.

23rd June 2007  -  Merv. Renton  Western Australia

"Hello Max, What are your terms for the use of some some images from your web site on a touring/camping/caravanning oriented website I am building for a client? I only need web-ready style images - the enlarged versions you display would be shrunk down to around 300-400 pixels a side. Regards, Merv. Renton, CompuSolve Pty Ltd. "

Max's Response: ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Hi Merv, I have given up trying to get my first dollar from my photography. I am happy to see Australia promoted with descent images, so go for it. My minimum conditions are an acknowledgement and an active link to my website. Something like "Photo/s taken by Max Jefferies (C) www.maxEphotos.net" somewhere on the page. You must only use images that are marked as taken by me, not copyrighted by another source. Permission is granted for this project only, and no images are to be given or sold to any further party without express permission by me. I also require the URL of the finished site. Cheers.

6th June 2007  -  Michael Lloyd  Western Australia

"Hi Max, My name is Michael Lloyd and as you can see from below I run a small events company. Next summer we are planning to put on some jazz/guitar evenings at The Quarry. Unfortunately when we talk to artist (like Vince Jones) we have no photos of the Quarry to show them how amazing it is. Kind regards, Michael.  Ps.. great photos by the way – I love the state we live in!!  Lloyd Events - www.lloydevents.com "

Max's Response: ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Hi Michael, I have created a page on my website for The Quarry, and you can direct people to view the images if you wish. maxEphotos-the_quarry .
They are not very good as they were taken back in 2003, two weeks after I got my digital camera. I have improved a bit since then. Cheers, Max.

"Hey Max, Hiya from good 'ole UK ! Could you give me an addy for that really interesting site, that was probably a link from the Niva Site; it was a really interesting site, gave pictures and details of some really weird Russian Cars, Prototypes and stuff, was a really great site!!  Hoping you can, 'cos if you Aussies can't, then what hope is left for the rest of us!!  Davey."

Max's Response: ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________

I have now sold my Niva as I needed a bigger 4x4 to tow with, but I still enjoyed the time with my little Niva. Due to popular demand by other Niva fans, I have decided to bring back my Lada Niva Maxed Out web pages. ENJOY!    Lada Niva 4x4

12th September 2006  -  Robin Booth  -  Western Australia  -  Niva

"Good evening Max,  I found your Niva website very interesting. Unfortunately my web page has disappeared from the web and the link on your site to it does not follow through. I will lodge it again in the near future, work permitting. I still drive my Niva regularly. Since the Niva Nuts page was displayed on the web I have added power steering, used a Commodore radiator and cut out some small areas of rust.  Keep up the good work.  Regards, Robin Booth.  Perth, WA"

Max's Response: ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Thanks Robin for the update. Cheers.

8th August 2006  -  Ross  -  Australia  -  1997 Niva 1.7i

"Hello Max,  I have just found your Niva site. I also have a white air conditioned 1.7i Niva, mine a 1997 model. Mine is standard except for the mags which are the same as yours. I also bought my Niva to get out into the bush and take photos. I have a Minolta 500Si SLR and a Sony 330 video camera as well as a small Pentax Espio for happy snaps. I am looking a buying a Canon 350D shortly and am currently doing a photography course at night. The only extras I want to put on mine are spotties and perhaps the headlight wipers. Just a question, did yours have those when you bought it or are they part of your modification program? Looking forward to your reply.  Cheers, Ross."

Max's Response: ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________

G'day Ross, mine had headlight wipers which I removed and binned. Not much use for them in Western Australia. Suppose they could have kept the flies off the lights!? Thanks for the input. Cheers.

26th May 2006  -  Zita C.  -  Arizona, U.S.A

"Won-der-full photos!   My American Dad was stationed in New Guinea during WW II, met my Mom on a double-date while on R/R in Sydney. They corresponded for 3 yrs during the war, married in Strathfield, NSW, and moved to the U.S.. 11th April 2006  -  Alexandre Lamotte  -  Brazil  -  Lada Niva  -  www.nivasgerais4x4.com.br

"Hello Max, Congratulations! Your site is great!  I really liked your Niva. You've made some interesting modifications. I did not understand the Cruise Control. Does it just control de accelerator? By the way, I am president of a Niva Club, in Brazil, at Minas Gerais, Belo Horizonte City. We have about 270 members. If you don't mind, I'd like to link your page on our web site, and you can do the same. Visit us at www.nivasgerais4x4.com.br. I am sending in attach the gif to insert in your links page. Regards and sorry about my bad english.  Alexandre Lamotte, Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, Brazil."

Max's Response: ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Hi Alexandre, the cruise control (CC) maintains the speed of the vehicle when 'Set' is pressed, by the vacuum powered servo unit connected to the accelerator arm on the carby. The CC then tries to keep that speed by accelerating or backing off, just like a factory-fitted unit would do, and you can increase or decrease your set speed in small increments without disconnecting - it is not a throttle control locking the revs of the engine. It works by a transponder picking up the pulse of a small magnet zip-tied (and glued) to a protected spot on a drive shaft, so it will work in any gear. There is a disconnect to the brake pedal for safety reasons. When the vehicles speed drops around 20% of the set level, the unit disconnects also. I will never again own another vehicle used for country driving without cruise control fitted. The after-market unit cost me around AU$250. It is brilliant! Cheers.

21st October 2005  -  Vern Richardson  -  Tasmania, Australia  -  1989 Lada Niva 1600cc  -  www.geocities.com/vernr_au

"G'day Max!!  I have just 'stumbled' upon your Niva website whilst browsing the web... what a great looking site and a top job... well done!! It is great to find yet another Aussie site dedicated to the Niva. I have had two Nivas. My current one is in excellent condition and giving us some wonderful trips. I notice from your website that you have travelled around Australia fairly extensively..........no blue lines shown on Tassie yet!!! If ever you get down this way don't hesitate to contact me............there are some awesome 4WD areas to be checked out which I can assure you the Niva will love!! Thanks for the links on your site to my Niva website.........I really must set aside some time and update my site as it is badly out of date........finding your website has renewed my priorities in that regard!!!
Cheers for now......and stay safe!! Vern."

Max's Response: ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Thanks Vern. We do hope to travel Tassie at some stage... when I really retire probably.

5th October 2005  -  Robert Krog  -  Croatia  -  Niva

"Visited your (Lada Niva) site and it is very nice.  I am one Niva fan from Croatia and asking around about bull bar that I saw in most of Nivas from Australia. I also send a few mails from sites I've found but no reply. Maybe you can help me. I would like to buy such a bull bar but for start I need a price and some info about possible shipping from Australia, etc. I would appreciated very much if you can help me on that matter. Best regards, Robert."

Max's Response: ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________

G'day Robert, the "Bull Bar" I have was on the Niva when I purchased it, but I removed it as it was too heavy for the front, and it was not really that strong. The bar itself was strong enough - made of steel - but it is overall only as strong as it's weakest link, and that is the two round mounting brackets coming out the front of the Niva from the subframe. These are made of thin steel and even squashed as I tightened the bull bar on to them. I had to ram a spacer piece of pipe inside the Niva bumper fitting bars to strengthen them a little. With the bull bar fitted, in the event of hitting a kangaroo or something bigger, the bar would simply be pushed back onto the full front of the vehicle, damaging bonnet, lights, grill and panels. I opted for going back to an original bumper bar which is light and, I think, looks better, is much lighter and far less wind resistance, thus adding to fuel economy. So, having said that, if I were you, I would not go to the trouble and expense of fitting a "bull" bar at all. If you still want one, I strongly recommend it be made from aluminium, not steel. There are some around on Nivas here in Western Australia, but I have never seen a second-hand one advertised anywhere, so I think you have buckleys of finding one (no chance).  Hope that helps you a little. Cheers, Max.
