Exmouth Region - Western Australia The Shire of Exmouth is an area of 6,261 square kilometres situated on the tip of the North West Cape in Western Australia 1,270 kilometres north of Perth. The town, which is quite remote was originally constructed in 1964 as a support town for the United States Naval Communications Station Harold E Holt. Although Exmouth has a resident population of 2,400 in the period April to October, annually the numbers swell to approximately 6,000 with the influx of many tourists that travel north for the beautiful climate and conditions that we are fortunate to have. Exmouth is one of the few areas in Australia that can boast the Range to Reef experience. The Cape Range National Park which has some spectacular gorges is an area of 50,581 hectares and its main area is focused on the west coast of the Cape which provides a large variety of camp sites on the coastal fringe of the Park. The Ningaloo Marine Park abuts the Cape Range National Park and encompasses 260 kilometres of coastline. At the closest point the reef is within 100 metres of the shore. The reef itself comprises 200 species of hard corals and 50 species of soft corals and is a divers and snorkellers paradise. The beaches of the west coast have the most pristine blue, aqua to turquoise waters with white surge breaking over the reef and pure white sandy beach. Turquoise Bay is the most relaxing beach to just sit back, relax and soak up the beautiful surroundings and sunshine.

The Exmouth Town Beach with the Mariner in the background. We had bought fresh bread in town and made sandwiches with the fresh-cooked King Prawns we bought at the Exmouth Fish Co-Op an hour earlier. Added a bit of Seafood Sauce - what an awesome lunch!!!

CAPE RANGE NATIONAL PARK, Western Australia
The road up the Range is firstly bitumen and is very steep - NO CARAVANS permitted. Charles Knife Canyon scenic drive turns west off the Minilya - Exmouth Road 21 kms south of town of Exmouth.
Accessed from the eastern side of the Exmouth Peninsula (near the Exmouth Fish Co-Op) is the Cape Range National Park, a spectacular place of rugged limestone ranges and breathtaking deep canyons.
There are several lookout points that provide fantastic photo opportunities and a marked walking trail from Thomas Carter Lookout.
The mostly gravel road follows the razor-backed ridges of the range and provides breathtaking downward views into the stark multicoloured gorges.

work. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End, the First and the Last." Blessed are those who do His commandments, that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter through the gates into the city. But outside are dogs and sorcerers and sexually immoral and murderers and idolaters, and whoever loves and practices a lie. “I, Jesus, have sent My angel to testify to you these things in the churches. I am the Root and the Offspring of David, the Bright and Morning Star.” And the Spirit and the bride say, “Come!” And let him who hears say, “Come!” And let him who thirsts come. Whoever desires, let him take the water of life freely." ( * Jesus ) Revelation of Jesus Christ ch.22 vs.12-17. The Holy Bible - New King James Version
