CYC Lake Cooloongup Campsite
Baldivis, Western Australia

CYC  Lake Cooloongup has changed its name to 'Camp Cooloongup' and is in Baldivis near Rockingham. Ann and I spent two and a half years at the campsite as the first onsite managers and caretakers. See also the  CYC CAMP COOLOONGUP 2010 UPDATE ALBUM

Camp Cooloongup is one of the few facilities in Western Australia able to manage a wide range of activities and

accommodation within the same grounds, at amongst WA's most competitive prices. CYC's long and rewarding

history of serving the West Australian community began in the 60's and continues to enjoy and experience a

culture of continual improvement. The rooms are well appointed with a choice of six and eight bed fully

carpeted dormitories, most with their own shower and toilet. In addition the camp offers motel units with en-suites,

a laundry, leaders lounge, disabled toilets, craft room, tuck shop, managed office, photocopying....and more.

Snapshots from the old Family Album
This is a small sample of the photos in our old family album, going back many years. The photos are scanned from old prints or transparencies (slides), and were taken by me or a member of my family, or on our behalf, and copyright is retained by us in all cases. Due to the age and deterioration of the prints and transparencies, image quality may be rather poor in some cases.

Before Ann and I could take up position as manager/caretakers, a home had to be built on site.

Next was the re-shaping of the oval and bank, and the building of steps.

A new entrance way was also installed and the driveway was re-sprayed.

Why was the 20th century so bloody?

There have always been mad-men, but the 20th century was the bloodiest century in human history. Why? What changed? Why did the world suddenly find itself murdering millions of innocent people? Is it possible that one specific idea influenced or provided a justification for the atrocities we know as Nazi Germany, the eugenics movement and abortion? Is it possible that idea was Darwinian evolution? Charles Darwin loved his wife and children. He paid his taxes and he never kicked his dog. But Charles Darwin had a big idea, and ideas have consequences. Can we thank the advocates of natural selection for the deaths of millions of people? Or were their ideas twisted and misapplied? 'What Hath Darwin Wrought?' features Discovery Institute Senior Fellows David Berlinski, author of The Devilís Delusion and The Deniable Darwin; John West, author of Darwin Day in America; and historian Richard Weikart, author of From Darwin to Hitler. They present the evidence that seeks to resolve the question, "What hath Darwin wrought?"

2 DVD set features the two hour television presentation and over ninety minutes of bonus features. A free discussion and study guide is available to facilitate use of the documentary in small groups and adult education classes. Click "Study Guide" link under Samples above to open or save study guide. Disk 1 contains the expanded 80-minute documentary "What Hath Darwin Wrought."  Disk 2 includes more than 100 minutes of additional interviews with David Berlinski, Richard Weikart, and John West hosted by Todd Friel.

Our first camp dog, Spartan, was a fantastic loyal friend. Unfortunately he died due to a local Vet's miss-diagnosis.

"This is the message which we have heard from Him* and declare to you, that God is light and in Him

is no darkness at all. If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie and do not

practice the truth. But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the

blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin. If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves,

and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us

from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us."

Our second camp dog, Benson, was a pain in the butt and was handed back to the dog pound.
