Australian War Memorial & Museum, Canberra - Australian Capital Territory

These photos were taken over a number of trips to Canberra. Due to the restriction of not being permitted to take a tripod into the museum, some of the photos are a little blurred. The Australian War Museum is an amazing place and a must-see, worth going to Canberra if just to see that. You need about 4 hours to do it justice, plus you can have a cuppa or lunch in the canteen.

The battle that rages for our hearts and minds

is nothing less than a battle for truth.

The Christian worldview is under attack from many directions.

Competing worldviews have infiltrated every area of modern

society—education, politics, business, the media—and

exercise a powerful influence on the way we think and behave.

In such a battle, there is no room for ignorance.

The Dark Side of Charles Darwin

A Critical Analysis of an Icon of Science

A single man stands behind the greatest deception in history. Charles Darwin’s ideas still penetrate every aspect of our culture, including science, religion, and education. And while much has been made of his contribution to the evolutionary hypothesis, little has been publicized about the dark side of the man himself and how this may have impacted the quality and legitimacy of his research.

This daring and compelling book takes its readers behind the popular facade of a man revered worldwide as a scientific pioneer, and unveils what kind of person Darwin really was. The book reveals disturbing facts that will help you:

  • Perceive Darwin firsthand through the eyes of family and friends, and his own correspondence
  • Discern this darkly troubled man, struggling with physical and mental health issues
  • Uncover his views on eugenics and racism, and his belief that women were less evolved than men

Thoroughly documented, this book reveals Darwin’s less-than-above board methods of attempting to prove his so-called scientific beliefs, and his plot to ‘murder God’ by challenging the then-dominant biblical worldview.

"But the day of the Lord* will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up. Therefore, since all these things will be dissolved, what manner of persons ought you to be in holy conduct and godliness, looking for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be dissolved, being on fire, and the elements will melt with fervent heat? Nevertheless we, according to His promise, look for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells."

'Simpson and his donkey,' in the grounds of the Australian War Museum. He served at Gallipoli in 1915 as Private John Simpson in the 3rd Field Ambulance, Australian Army Medical Corps. Simpson became famous for his work as a stretcher-bearer and as the man with the donkey at Gallipoli between 25 April, when he landed, and his death in action on 19 May. Using one of the donkeys landed on the first day for water carrying and later, a second animal, he transported wounded men day and night from the fighting in Monash Valley to the beach on ANZAC Cove. He did so, according to CEW Bean, through deadly sniping down the valley and the most furious shrapnel fire. By the time of his death, from machine gun fire as he was bringing down two wounded men, he had saved many lives. He was buried on the beach at Hell Spit.
